Leros
According to mythology, Leros is the island of Artemis, the goddess of forests and hunting. It is ideal for peaceful holidays, while you will be amazed by its impressive architecture, clean coasts and the imposing castle of Panagia, on Apitiki hill. The picture is completed by hidden bays, hills, pine-tree forests, olive groves and water springs. The island extends over a surface of 54km², its coastline is 71km long and has 8,500 inhabitants. It can be reached by ferry from Piraeus, the islands of the northern and eastern Aegean and several Dodecanese islands, or by aeroplane from Athens airport.
